A good topic will be high in demand, and have very few people competing for that web space. Think of your website as a virtual real-estate. The more sites you have, the more money you make. It's that simple.
When choosing a topic to build your niche website around, it's important that you choose one with enough search volume to make money with. A good market to get involved in will have a minimum of 100,000 searches for the top 3 keywords in the market. For example, if you were to choose "dog training" for your topic, you would want to make sure that the top 3 keywords in that market have a minimum of 100,000 searches. This means that you can expect to receive about.10% of the traffic in the market. So, you would be able to get about 10,000 visitors to your website. Not bad at all.
2. Now, you will want to write articles based around keywords in your market. This is not that hard to do and you can actually pay people to write the content for you. The only thing that you need to worry about is that the content should be good. Duplicate content will get you poor results in the search engines. Write the content for the people who want to learn about your topic, and you will do just fine.
3. Once you have built your niche site, move on to more markets. Choose more topics to build your sites around, and make more money. It's that easy. Well, creating the content will take time, but the concept is easy enough. Once you have built at least 10 websites, you should be making enough to quite your day job and work full-time online. Again, this is just from my experience and you shouldn't expect to get the same results. However, stick with it and you'll be amazed at what can happen for you.
